Oysters with Shallot, Ginger, Ground Cloves and Cider Vinegar

Broiled with shallot, ginger, ground cloves and cider vinegar, this is a simple and delicious way to enjoy oysters.

Ingredients

  • 12 oysters shucked

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons shallot chopped

  • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger

  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

  • 1/4 cup cider vinegar

  • 1/2 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil

  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper

  • 1 lemon cut into wedges for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the broiler. Add the shallot, ginger, and cloves to a small bowl. Whisk in the vinegar. Add the olive oil, season with salt and pepper, and whisk until combined.

  • Place the oysters on a large baking sheet. Spoon the vinegar mixture on top of the oysters. Put in the oven and broil for 3 minutes. Remove from the oven.

  • Arrange the oysters on a large serving plate. Serve immediately with the lemon wedges.
